Because Tom is getting fed up with hinged boxes, here is a new effort without them: pink ivory wood inlaid with turquoise, on curved wenge legs, wenge top and base, turquoise lid lift. I just love the glowing color of the pink ivory. Really, this is one of my favorites in a while- although it turned out quite differently from the original plan.

Here is how the "Garden of Eden" box is going so far. It has bocote sides and we made it a tall little cabinet. The sides have birds bandsawn and woodburned on the top. I just love how the glass snake pull turned out- it's sewn to the wood with copper. These door will slide open- Tom is a freaking genius at engineering these things, especially since until yesterday we intended to hinge it- but as I said, he's fed up with hinges and so is highly motivated to be creative.
